CEC Proceedings

The California Energy Commission proposes to adopt regulations related to nonresidential building energy use benchmarking and disclosure. These regulations implement the mandates of AB 1103 (2007, Saldana) and AB 531 (2010, Saldana). A hearing will be held at the CEC office in Sacramento on April 9th from 1 to 5PM. Documents related to this proceeding can be obtained from the website at: http://www.energy.ca.gov/ab1103/rulemaking/documents/index.html

The California Energy Commission is considering adopting revisions to the California Building Energy Efficiency and Green Building Standards, codified in Title 24. The Building Energy Efficiency Standards (also known as the California Energy Code) establish minimum levels of energy efficiency for newly constructed buildings and additions and alterations to existing buildings. The Green Building Standards are voluntary “reach” standards. Energy Commission staff recommends adoption of a Negative Declaration. The public comment period for this Initial Study and Proposed Negative Declaration will be from March 26, 2012, through 10:00 a.m. on April 26, 2012. Parties wishing to review and comment on the Initial Study and Proposed Negative Declaration may obtain these documents, and all supporting documentation, free from the Energy Commission’s website at: http://www.energy.ca.gov/title24/2013standards/rulemaking/documents/
