The CPUC Commissioner, Carla Peterman, is holding a public meeting in the City of Richmond’s City Council Chambers to receive input on the Transportation Electrification investment plans proposed by State regulated investor-owned utilities: PG&E, SoCal Edison, and San Diego Gas & Electric. On January 20, 2017, the utilities filed an application with the CPUC to request approval of a portfolio of investments in transportation electrification. The utilities filed the applications in response to Senate Bill 350. In total, the utilities have requested approximately $1 billion in funding to implement these proposals over several years. The majority of requested funding is to provide infrastructure to the medium- and heavy-duty sectors. Please find a summary of the utility’s proposals and meeting flyers attached.
We strongly recommend sharing this opportunity to meet with Commissioner Peterman and CPUC staff with your community networks interested in transportation, electrification, environmental justice, and social equity. It’s a great opportunity to showcase the importance of local input to the CPUC decision makers, highlight best practices, share local government climate action goals, and communicate community needs.
