Air Polliution Specialist – California Air Resources Board

The incumbent will be responsible for assessing, developing, and improving tools, resources, and other strategies for use by local governments, as well as small businesses and households, to be hosted on CARB’s existing CoolCalifornia.org site. These responsibilities include overseeing research to fill knowledge gaps, and developing technical reports and tools. The selected candidate will be responsible for quantitatively evaluating the efficacy of greenhouse gas reduction strategies (municipal energy, waste, land use, and transportation planning, policies), including quantifying emissions, and measuring and tracking implementation. This position requires extensive coordination with academia, government, and other organizations to keep CARB apprised of the current state of research and to unify and integrate efforts and tools, and the candidate should be comfortable making presentations and communicating the Section’s objectives to nontechnical persons.
