Climate Change and Extreme Heat Webinar Tuesday, April 19th

The California Department of Public Health Office of Health Equity is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, April 19th from 1:00-4:00pm about their recent report, Public Health Chapter of Safeguarding California: Implementation Action Plans.” The public health implementation plan is one of ten sector-specific plans to implement Safeguarding California. This Implementation Plan articulates how the State of California can integrate climate adaptation into its public health planning and work, as well as how the work of other state agencies and other partners can improve public health in the era of climate change.

The Climate Change and Health Team welcomes your feedback regarding the plan and about how we can work together to support the resilience of communities facing health impacts of climate change. The Implementation Plans have been informed by extensive public comments gathered over eight months, including at workshops held around the state. More information on Safeguarding California including an executive summary and each of the ten sector plans in the report can be accessed here.
