Cities that have joined the environmental commitments of the international Compact of Mayors might be interested to hear best practices being learned from local governments around the world on how to comply with those commitments. Webinars will be held from May 20th to June 16th in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese. See below or visit ICLEI’s webpage for more information:
The topics for each of the webinars include:
- An introduction to the Compact of Mayors (20 minutes): Staff supporting the Compact of Mayors will provide introductions and background information on the Compact. This section covers a general overview of the Compact, partner organizations, the scope of the initiative, how to join, and requirements for compliance.
- About the e-learning course (20 minutes): This course was developed to provide a flexible, fun and interactive way to learn more about the compliance phases of the Compact of Mayors. The e-learning experience gets users started with compliance requirements, and connects with supporting tools and resources to advance the climate planning capacity. Flexible course pathways allow for users to pursue the topics they find most interesting. This section covers learning content and short demos sampling some of the exercises in the course.
- Registration and e-learning platform (20 minutes): In this section, we will do a walkthrough of the course registration process and introduce webinar attendees to some of the platform features that can be used to get the most out of the e-learning. Users can engage with the course forum to connect with peers and experts, share experiences and get support for topics covered in the e-learning.
