Energy Savings Metrics Meetings

As part of the 2014 update to the California Long-term Energy Efficiency Strategic Plan, the California Public Utilities Commission will attach energy savings metrics to each of the goals in each of the chapters. Navigant Consulting has been hired to help develop those metrics for the local government chapter.

There will be three meetings to share the methodology for developing the metrics and gather input on the process and eventual metrics.

  • Review consultant methodology for developing metrics for Goal 1 (reducing city/county energy use), Goal 2 (enhanced savings from energy management) and Goal 3 (code compliance)
  • Preliminary metrics results for Goals 1 and 2
  • Technical discussion of an existing energy efficiency potential model that will be used in this chapter

Meeting #2 – December 5, 2013, 1:30 – 3:00pm, Webex Only

Meeting #3 – December 16, 2013, 1:30 – 3:00pm, Southern California Gas Company’s Energy Resource Center in Downey, CA and Webex

Drawing from the earlier meetings, participants will coordinate closely with the consultant team to review revisions and receive a technical briefing on the quantitative goals established for Goals 1, 2 and 4.

Following this work, these energy savings metrics will be included in the revised local government chapter for action by the California Public Utilities Commissioners.
