Distributed Energy Projects Manager

Under direction, the Distributed Energy Projects Manager is responsible for providing leadership in the planning, budgeting, development, and implementation of a wide range of distributed energy projects for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC). The SFPUC is the City’s municipal power utility, and provides electrical services to select local residential and business communities, and owns and operates the Hetch Hetchy Power System, which supplies clean energy to all of San Francisco’s municipal facilities, services and customers. These customers include SFO Airport, SF General Hospital, SF Municipal Transit Authority, SF Police, retail city tenants, residences and businesses in the San Francisco Shipyard, Treasure Island, and more.

This position will oversee the work of five to six Utility Specialists focused on developing, designing, and constructing distributed energy projects such as: solar, energy efficiency improvements, storage, and other types of projects for SFPUC’s customers. It also includes Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget planning as well as developing and managing a number of construction and design related contracts for improvements at City owned facilities such as schools, libraries, and other municipal facilities.
