San Diego International Airport seeks a highly-motivated professional to join its Environmental Affairs Department as a Senior Environmental Specialist.
The role is responsible for the design and implementation of environmental programs to support the Airport’s Sustainability Policy and related commitments and for engaging Airport departments, business partners, and other stakeholders on sustainable development and operations best practices.
As such, it requires a robust, professional-level knowledge of a variety of environmental disciplines, including energy and water management, greenhouse gas emission inventories and reduction strategies, climate resiliency assessments and planning, alternative fuels and transportation technologies, waste management policies, green building and infrastructure design concepts, and sustainability reporting.
A successful candidate will be able to perform program management duties (strategic planning, implementation tracking and analysis, and performance reporting); supervise and evaluate the work of professional and technical staff; and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Professional credentials such as LEED Accredited Professional and/or Envision Sustainability Professional are encouraged.
