Senior Conservation Specialist
Leads and participates in wide variety of duties related to the development and implementation of community-focused conservation programs and provides complex support to the Environmental Services Manager. Essential functions include: provides lead guidance to assigned staff; plans, prioritizes, assigns, and reviews the work of staff performing duties related to the coordination development and implementation of community-focused conservation programs; provides and/or coordinates staff training; conducts grant funds research and prepares draft applications; implements grant funded projects under the supervision of the Environmental Services Manager; develops, implements and coordinates community-focused programs related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, green buildings, alternative fuels, greenhouse gas emissions, climate change, water conservation, watershed protection, and general sustainability.
Recycling Specialist I
This is the entry-level class in the Recycling Specialist series. Essential functions include: conducts audits and waste stream characterizations; assists businesses with developing recycling/diversion programs; educates residents and business owners on how to properly divert recyclable materials and dispose of solid waste, household hazardous waste and universal wastes, and proper set out of service containers for each service type; assists in contract management of recycling and solid waste franchise service provider including service audits, division redemption value allocation studies, vehicle safety inspection and route audits; provides field assistance to Conservation Coordinator and possible enforcement as related to environmental matters such as street sweeping, litter prevention, illegal dumping activities, shopping cart retrieval, bus stop bin placement and service, household hazardous waste, storm water protection and pollution prevention.
