Local Government Roundtables

CCEC Local Government Roundtables, organized by topic and convened via conference call, aim to facilitate peer-to-peer connections to share best practices and resources, discuss opportunities to overcome challenges, and highlight innovative local efforts. For most roundtables, participation is limited to local government staff and officials in order to provide a safe space for open dialogue, with the exception of the facilitator being a staff member of the Local Government Commission and when a Roundtable decides to extend an invitation to an industry expert.

CCEC Reading Roundtable 1: Maintaining Sustainability Staff

April 29, 2021

The California Climate and Energy Collaborative (CCEC) hopes the ”Maintaining Sustainability Staff” report is useful to you as you navigate your energy and climate work amid the pandemic and other disruptions in your community. In these challenging times, professionals in your position need more support than ever. We plan to run a piece under the “Coping with Crises” series each quarter in CURRENTS, and follow each with an opportunity to dig in deeper with facilitated reflection among peers.

In this Roundtable, we invited you to join other California local government energy and climate practitioners for the first interactive CCEC Reading Roundtable that took place April 29, @ 2:30-3:30pm, where we discussed your experiences attempting to maintain sustainability staff in difficult times.
