Sacramento County Moves to LED Street Lights, Saves $477,000 Per Year

Sacramento County is utilizing a zero-interest loan from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) to replace 7,500 old streetlight fixtures with LEDs. The electric savings of the project is estimated at $477,000 per year, or enough to pay off the project’s loan in six years.
