Santa Barbara County celebrated the addition of 15 new green businesses to its Green Business Program at a luncheon event this week. Per their website, Program Director Frances Gilliland shared: ”The Green Business Program continues to work with so many amazing local companies. As a region, we are lucky to have business people who understand environmental sustainability and economic sustainability truly go hand in hand.”
The Santa Barbara County Green Business Program is a voluntary program, through which businesses access technical assistance, incentives, and can be certified as a green business after meeting various requirements. Businesses leverage the Green Business Program to reduce waste, identify green purchasing methods, and pursue energy and water efficiency, air pollution prevention, and transportation solutions such as ridesharing.
