The City of Hermosa Beach and the City of Lancaster met over Earth Day to review best practices in going carbon neutral. The City of Lancaster is aiming for carbon neutrality by the end of 2015, using strategies such as requiring solar on new construction and requiring gray water readiness from new residential, purchasing all of its streetlights from SCE and converting to LEDs, and deploying electric buses.
