There is one (1) full-time fixed-term vacancy in the Community Development Agency. This fixed-term position is funded for two (2) years and continuation is dependent upon on-going funding. Please note, this position may end prior to two years if funding ceases or the work is complete. Per PMR 48.2, fixed term employees are not subject to Reduction in Force rights at the completion of the term.
The Sustainability Program Coordinator will manage the Drawdown: Marin project. Drawdown is the central sustainability initiative to catalyze Marin County’s efforts to respond to climate change, building on the County’s existing 2015 Climate Action Plan. It will include setting multi-year targets and incremental goals to reach carbon neutrality, adapt to anticipated impacts of climate change, and maximize economic benefit. The Senior Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for the following four core areas of work: (1) facilitating, staffing and managing the technical working groups and executive steering committee to ensure that the groups progress toward meeting program goals on schedule; (2) developing a final technical report with input from the technical working groups and community that could form the foundation for the future update to the Climate Action Plan; (3) collaborating with community organizations to develop a cohesive plan for promoting Drawdown efforts and initiatives; and (4) assisting with the implementation of the Drawdown strategies upon completion of the technical report.
