Webinar: Emerging Technologies: Innovative Water Heating Approaches – Jan 24

On January 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM, California Energy Commission staff will host a one-hour webinar to share information on innovative projects focusing on efficient water heating technologies that can reduce fuel consumption and cut costs.

Speakers:

  • Gerardo Diaz, UC Merced, will discuss the design and demonstration of aluminum mini-channel solar water heating collectors for residential single/multifamily or commercial buildings.
  • Ryan Kerr, Gas Technology Institute, will discuss a rooftop air conditioning unit that takes waste heat from the air conditioned space and uses it to pre-heat hot water.

There will be a Q&A session following the presentations, and a bonus session after the webinar will provide information about the EPIC and Emerging Technologies programs, funding opportunities, and how to get involved.

This webinar is co-sponsored by the Emerging Technologies Coordinating Council (ETCC) whose members include Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, Southern California Gas Company, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, and the California Energy Commission.  The California Public Utilities Commission provides oversight of the activities of the ETCC. The EPIC program is the California Energy Commission’s research and development program.
