The Energizing Insular Communities (EIC) program (formerly called the Empowering Insular Communities program) provides grant funding for sustainable energy strategies that mitigate climate change, reduce reliance and expenditures on imported fuels, develop and utilize domestic energy sources, and improve the performance of energy infrastructure and overall energy efficiency in the territories. This program is intended to support the Secretary’s priority to utilize our natural resources by ensuring American energy is available to meet security and economic needs.
