SLECC stakeholders have brainstormed the following solution opportunities that can be taken by state leaders. Existing examples of progress or pathways to make further progress are highlighted if known.
State-derived General Funding is needed – remove the competition for funds. Make them need based and distributed equitably to communities. Even equitably distributed grants are still creating a burden on local agencies and NGOs and a competition for who has the best grant writers, not who has the most need.
